Emma and James’ September wedding ceremony in Edgartown was truly one for the books. On a flawless early-fall day, 200 of their family and friends gathered for a ceremony set in one of the most unique and rarely used locations on Martha’s Vineyard—the Lower Lawn and gardens of the historic Dr. Daniel Fisher House.

Ceremonies are seldom held on this portion of the property, making the moment all the more special. The Lower Lawn offers a sweeping sense of space and history, surrounded by some of the island’s most iconic landmarks. To one side stands the Vincent House, the oldest home on Martha’s Vineyard, and in the distance rises the Old Whaling Church, the tallest building on the island. Together, these storied structures created a powerful and unmistakably Vineyard backdrop for Emma and James as they exchanged vows.

Lush white floral arrangements by Aubrey Maria Designs framed the altar, softening the grand scale of the lawn while enhancing its natural beauty.

The September weather delivered exactly what every Vineyard couple hopes for—clear skies, gentle breezes, and warm sunshine that carried effortlessly through the ceremony.

Emma and James’ decision to host their ceremony on the Lower Lawn was a bold and inspired choice, one that honored the property’s history while offering guests a fresh perspective on a beloved Edgartown landmark. It was a true privilege to help bring such a meaningful and memorable moment to life in one of the island’s most extraordinary settings.
