A June Celebration at the Historic Old Whaling Church

Sara and Avery’s June wedding in Edgartown was a beautiful blend of classic New England charm and heartfelt celebration. Surrounded by 80 of their closest friends and family, the couple chose two of Edgartown’s most iconic properties to host their day, the Old Whaling Church and the Dr. Daniel Fisher House. Fun fact: the Old Whaling Church is the tallest building on the entire island, and its stately presence added a timeless feel to their ceremony.
The day began in the bridal suite on site, where Sara prepared for the celebration ahead. Soft morning light filtered through the windows as she spent time with her closest friends, enjoying a relaxed, joyful start to the day. Soon after, Avery and his groomspeople arrived for portraits, setting the stage for the couple’s first look.

In the rose garden, surrounded by lush June blooms, Sara and Avery saw each other for the first time. The setting was romantic and serene, an ideal backdrop for such an emotional moment. They continued with portraits on the opposite side of the property, where vibrant flowers created a bright, seasonal frame for photos with their families and wedding party.

Soon, guests made their way into the Old Whaling Church for the ceremony. Officiated by a close friend, the service felt intimate, personal, and filled with genuine emotion.

After a joyful group photo outside the church, everyone walked the short distance back to the Daniel Fisher House for cocktail hour in the rose garden.

As the afternoon softened into evening, guests moved beneath the tent for the reception, an elegant celebration that perfectly reflected Sara and Avery’s warmth, joy, and love for one another.
